In addition to the performing arts, the people of ancient Hawai`i had a
highly developed tradition of fine arts utilizing native materials such
as wood, stone, feathers, bone, shell, coral, and plant fibres. Hawai`i
Island artist Leilehua Yuen has spent almost three decades studying the
many arts of these islands. Here, she shares some of her work. |
